A Cuban Story

Synopsis

My grandfather died as a result of an automobile accident on July 19, 1955. I was fifteen years old at the time of his death, and had been working closely with him for the past two years.

Although I had always been aware that he was my grandfather, it wasn't until that proximity to him in his working environment that he became the most important and extraordinary person in my life.

His death, and the events that followed it, transformed my life, and were instrumental in my decision to leave Cuba for the United States.
